TDUG: Denim-and-Denim Sundays

Denim skater dress // Zara wedges // H&M necklace

Topshop denim shirt dress // Androgyny leather leggings // H&M necklace

Yes. No typographical error right there. Denim and denim, the pattern of my two consecutive Sundays. And I am not even talking about standard denim jeans!

I mentioned about reorganizing my closet, the one I share with my sisters and the one I haven't seen in three years, and this has led me to discovering every bit of clothing we have in store! Amongst them is this Topshop denim shirt dress which instantly grabbed my attention! I know exactly what to do with it! So when the situation presented itself, I pulled out the imaginary look from my mind and made it come alive! It's a mix of two textures, denim and leather mixture, which just works every time. To add some more character to it, I wore my favorite pair of Cinderella inspired tipped-toe flats that compliments my bold neck piece from H&M. just the right amount of glam you'll need on a rather casual look.

When my sister pulled up the zipper continuously up to the top without any struggle, that's when I realized this denim skater dress fits me like a glove now! I couldn't help but let out an appropriate squee! This is a hand-me-down from one of my Aunties but I never had a chance to wear it before because it doesn't fit me, it won't actually, sad times. I never really knew how it will look like on an actual person so imagine my happiness when I found out it falls down properly above the knee and balloons perfectly from waist down! It creates an illusion of curves which may or may not exist, just like any skater dress would do! I paired it with my trusty Zara wedges because I wanted to compliment the illusional curves with equally illusional long legs! It's all possible to achieve with the right tools and the right angles, so don't you worry, don't you worry child! What else is there to add but a statement neck piece! Do we love this neon studded necklace from H&M? I know I do!

Denims are said to be a must-have in the world of fashion. Investing on versatile pieces would be wise as there's a guarantee it will never be just a trend that will come and go, it's a fashion staple. Both in your closet in in this big, bad, crazy beautiful world of fashion we are in.

TDUG: Daytime to Nighttime 001

I can't believe I'm only posting my 001 version of daytime to nighttime outfit just now! But like what they say, better late than never! How totally cliche of me right? So here's my take on maximizing an outfit when you've got a full day ahead of you. Three words: make it work!

The defaults: Zara shirt // LOVE thrifted shorts

Spot the difference!
1. The shoes. Like what they say, give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world! During daytime, it is just but acceptable to wear comfortable and trendy flats especially when you'll be running errands all day long! How cute is this pair from Tomato? They're incredibly comfortable too! And then as we all know, it's not just accepted but somehow expected of you to wear something more sophisticated when the night comes. Any pair of legs will look mighty fine in heels so grab yourself one! This pair of black wedges instantly transforms the look altogether, agree?

2. The hair. Never ever underestimate the power of a well-kept hair. As cool as the messy look sounds, it doesn't really work that way and I learned it the hard way. Keep it casual and laidback by letting it down during the day. Then when it's time to strut your stuff out during the night, pull it all back into a super-ponytail! Especially when you know you'll be dancing all night long, best to keep the hair away from your face.

3. The accessories. The bolder the better. Applies to both the day and the night times but during the day, I almost always keep my watch with me to keep track of the time and then I can make do without it during the night since I'll probably not need to look at the time when you're out and having a good time. The black heart shape bangles were the perfect bold accessories I needed and I'm good to go!

4. The lips. Well I guess that's the obvious difference! I picked out the nude shade in the morning and instantly revamped my look with the good old red lips in the evening! If there's one thing you need to transform a daytime outfit to an evening wear, it will always include the lips and the color you choose to put on them!

5.  The attitude. Own it! Confidence can make all your looks work for you so work it, woman! The world is your fashion runway, make it work!

So, what do you think? How did you like my take on the daytime to nighttime outfit? I hope you find it helpful, the least.

TDUG: Pocketful of Love

Zara shirt // Thrifted LOVE shorts // H&M loafers

Whether you have a date or not, one must always have a Valentine datenight outfit in mind because you never know when and/or if an invitation will pop out of nowhere. In my defense, I initially planned on going to the UP Fair as I'd love to hear Up Dharma Down and Urbandub again but we had to cancel it for "health" reasons, hahahaha I see you Rora Marie, so I did consider some outfits in my mind the night before. Just when I thought I'd be spending the rest of day couchin', which isn't a totally bad idea at all, Rora asked me if I want to grab a coffee over at Figaro. Having no plans and all, and totally not considering the holiday that was upon the rest of the world, we both agreed to leave our couches and meet up. Instead of a caffeine fix at Figaro though, we ended up having an impromptu buffet dinner at Hernz Icecream Specialties! We had no idea they were running that promo for Valentines' Day but we were two happy customers, akalain mo 'yun, nakatsamba pa kami ng buffet! HAHAHA!

To maximize the effect of the non-occasion, I wore all my emotions on my sleeve. Or rather on my shirt and in my pocket! Classic combo of v-neck tee and distressed light denims! The arm candies are my favorite detail! I only had my rose gold swatch watch that can double as an arm bracelet and a gold/black snake bangle but that's enough arm party for me. What do you think? I've been on this silent battlecry since last year and it goes something like, if you don't have it, wear it. The point of my whole outfit exactly! HAHA!

And that's why Zach Braff's valentines' greeting got to me. Maybe it's the choice of words, or maybe it's the thought altogether but it got me. And I'd like to share it all to you who's out there reading my post right now.

"Whether you have love or not, you have mine."

TDUG: White Out

I Love H81 cardigan // Zara TRF top // New Look shorts // Keds sneakers // Zara bag

I have been wearing nothing but shorts the past days and this isn't me complaining, I'm just saying. I am actually very happy about it, you have no idea! Having lived in Sharjah for the past 3 years and in a country with a strict dress code, I have kind of embraced that unwritten rule already so my reseurfacing shorts obsession is well justified. And right now, I'm having the time of my life catching up with all the imaginary outfits I've made up inside my head and finally turning them into legit outfits of the day.

The family's out to celebrate an anniversary on this day and we decided on wearing white, at least the four of us in here, and this is what I came up with. The shorter the shorts, the better. And this is a drawstring type so it's more comfortable than ever! I kind of thrown the pieces all over my body and surprised with how coordinated it turned out! Guess I was going for the grunge look, only in white? Haha! I think my ombre hair is the one that completed the look though. What do you think? I had extra time to iron it all out so for once it looks decent! Besides, the anniversary I'm talking about is the reason behind the ombre. So it's really part of the look, if not the heart of it.

And this too, is one of my favorite outfits so far! xxx
