You've known Seeley all your life. He's always been there, a constant whatever. One who gave you a pet pig named Rex because you find it more rational to have than a pet dog. One who offered a guy hug, the kind of hug that means everything is going to be alright, when you chose your career and stay put over a possible long and lasting love because the timing wasn't right. One who showed up on Christmas day with an actual Christmas tree because you couldn't pull enough strings to get one and it's not Christmassy at all without one. One whose presence has always been all over you in your real world but a silent resident of your fantasy world at the same time, so as you wouldn't feel totally alone in both worlds. One who'd need time to think things over without necessarily wanting space, just time, so you'd be free to sit down beside him, have his head rest on your shoulder and spent the rest of his birthday night together.

Then somewhere along the way comes Jared. A one time big time, too good to be true fella who'd eventually sweep you off your feet and catch you off guard. One who'd ask you out on a date because he's required to have an intelligent and attractive woman as an arm candy. One you'd say yes to because he's a break from the ordinary, a handsome break at that, and those lucky breaks don't usually happen a lot to you. One who'd take the risk of kissing of you on your first date without hesitations, without any warning, to justify a point. One who'd sidetrack you from what you thought you've always wanted before meeting him.

A silly. A jarhead. You choose.

I hope I'd be smart enough to choose Sillyness over Jarheadiness. And Temperance said it so well why we all should... "You know know who he is, but forget sometimes, because ... because he never shines the light on himself. He shines it on other people. Anthropology teaches us that the Alpha male is the man wearing the crown, displaying the most colorful plumage, and the shiniest baubles, he stands out from the others. But I now think that anthropology may have it wrong. In working with Seeley, I have come to realize that the quiet man - the invisible man, that man who is always there for friends and family - that's the real Alpha male. And I promise that my eyes will never be caught by those shiny baubles again."

The need to have a Seeley Booth in my life has just been justified and magnified a bajillion times after this episode. I PROMISE, Seeley. I'd know when it's time. And when it's you. And I'd definitely choose you.
